What Delayed Openings Mean for Half-Day Pre-school:

Please note that in the event of a delayed opening, the AM pre-school classes will be cancelled. The PM pre-school classes follow a regular schedule.

What Delayed Openings Mean for Full-Day Pre-school:

The preschoolers in the full day program at Wilson Primary Center will come in at 10:15 AM and dismiss at 3:00 PM (Monday – Thursday only.) If a delayed opening occurs on a Friday, classes are cancelled.

On days listed as “single session” the half-day morning pre-school schedule is as follows:

9:00 AM – 10:40 AM

On days listed as “single session” the half-day afternoon preschool schedule is as follows:

What Single Sessions Mean for Full-Day Preschool:

On days listed as “single session”:

  • If a Single Session falls Monday – Thursday, the full-day preschoolers attend class 9:00 AM – 12:25 PM
  • If a Single Session falls on Friday, the full-day preschoolers attend class
  • 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Preschool Application & Information

PREK LOTTERY INFO FOR 2018-2019

Applications for the 2018-2019 Preschool Program are available starting December 5th on the Primary Center page at summit.k12.nj.us. They may also be obtained in person at the Primary Centers and at the Office of Special Services during school hours. Applicants must be residents of Summit and be three years old and toilet trained by October 1, 2018. Students will be selected for this program by a lottery.

Preschool classes may include both three and four year old children at both Jefferson and Wilson Primary Centers. Classes will meet five days per week, Monday through Friday, except for one Friday per month that will be determined at a later date. The morning session is from 9 AM to 11:30 AM and the afternoon session is from 12:30 PM to 3 PM. The tuition will be $3,875 per year. For those who qualify for reduced lunch according to U.S. government guidelines, tuition will be $1,162.50 and for those who qualify for free lunch, tuition will be $387.50 per year.

All applications must be returned to the Primary Centers no later than 4 PM on January 17, 2018. The lottery drawing will be held at the Board of Education offices on January 18, 2018, at 10:00 AM. Special education students are included in the Preschool Program as determined by the District Child Study Team.

Las solicitudes para el Programa Preescolar 2018-2019 están disponibles a partir del 5 de diciembre en la página del Centro Primario en summit.k12.nj.us.
