Students learned about the weaving techniques!

1st grade: Created warm and cool color weavings

               - learned about cool colors on the color wheel (purple, blue, green)
               - painted one piece of paper with cool colors and the other with warm
                  colors.
               - using the warm colors, they created their loom for weaving (holds the
                 strips in place)
               - cut up the cool colors and wove them into the warm colors.

2nd grade: Yarn Weavings
               - learned about the weaving technique through using a kid friendly, plastic
                  needle point.
               - made book mark weavings.

3rd grade: Plate weavings

                - starting in the center, students wove a circle onto a paper plate, using
                   different color yarn.
                - once the loom was a complete circle, students designed the rest of the
                  plate.

4th grade: Jim Dine Heart Weavings
              - studied artist Jim Dine (American Pop Artist)
              - created a heart design pattern, traced it onto another paper
              - painted both papers
              - wove both heart design papers into each other.

5th grade: Optical Illusion Weavings
            - created optical illusions and traced it onto another paper.
            - using only 1/2" for the loom and strips, recreate a weaving optical illusion
