The Summit High School Counseling Department uses Naviance, a comprehensive college and career planning website that students and parents/guardians can use for post-secondary planning and exploring community resources. It also provides up-to-date information specific to our school.

Students and parents/guardians have unique, separate accounts. 

Naviance allows students to:

  • Get involved in the planning and advising process – Build a resume, complete online surveys, and manage timelines and deadlines for making decisions about colleges and careers
  • Research colleges & universities – Compare GPA, standardized test scores, and other statistics to actual historical admissions data from our school for students who have applied and been admitted to hundreds of colleges in prior years
  • Research careers – Explores hundreds of careers and career clusters, listen to interviews from industry professionals, and take career assessments
  • View custom "Pages" – Research Jobs & Internships, Volunteer opportunities, Tutoring, Test Prep Resources, Financial Aid, Gap Year Information, etc., by clicking "Additional Information from Your School."
  • Read custom "Welcome" messages - View grade-relevant information and upcoming events by clicking "Read More" on the right-hand side.

Naviance also lets us share timely information about upcoming meetings and events, local scholarship opportunities, and other resources for college and career information.

School counselors will use Naviance throughout the student's high school career, but especially in senior year, to apply to college. Naviance will be introduced in greater depth in group counseling meetings as well as grade-level programs.

All students and parents/guardians will receive registration information in the fall of 9th grade. If you are not sure of your login, please email your school counselor. 

NOTE: If you already have a Naviance Parent Account for another, or former, SHS student, please email agrill@summit.k12.nj.us, and we will link your accounts!
