School Climate & Culture
This month Nick Santangelo presented at a regional workshop for Climate & Culture at the College of St. Elizabeth. He spoke about programs and efforts to promote student engagement, buy-in, and achievement through the development of Climate & Culture programs and initiatives at Brayton Elementary School and Lincoln-Hubbard Elementary School.
The programs are being developed using the rational that promoting ownership in School Climate & Culture increases student experience and outcomes. School Counselor Nick Santangelo will work with classroom teachers across grade levels throughout the remainder of the school year. His goals include promoting social skills and the cornerstone character traits known as "pillars", that include respect, responsibility, caring, fairness, trustworthiness, and citizenship.
