AP & Honors Applications & Appeal Information
AP Exam Registration
All students enrolled in an AP course are required to take the corresponding AP exam administered in May.
At the beginning of the school year, students will complete a simple online enrollment process that will provide access to the new classroom resources and information necessary for exam registration. Students need to have access to their College Board account.

The Summit Boosters Association is comprised of parents and student athletes and members of the community. Through Boosters fundraising and profits from the sale of merchandise, the Boosters raise money to enhance the athletic programs at Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School and Summit High School.

GRADUATION INFORMATION
Summit High School's graduation is scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 6pm at Investors Bank Field at Tatlock Park.
In the case of inclement weather, a decision will be made on Thursday, June 18, 2020 if the location of the graduation ceremony will need to be changed. All notifications will go out through Honeywell, on the school and district website, and to all students via their school e-mail accounts.
A packet of information will be sent home in April 2020 to all students in the Class of 2020 that will include information about the Summit High School Graduation. Information included in that mailing will be posted here.
Handbook/Code of Conduct
All students and families are encouraged to review the Student Handbook. Students and parents/guardians must sign and return the Code of Conduct form which was distributed during period 1 on the first day of school. Completed Code of Conduct forms must be returned by Wednesday, September 11, 2019.
health letters
State law requires that Boards of Education test students for scoliosis every other year. Summit High School tests students in 9th and 11th grades in order to satisfy this requirement. More information about scoliosis testing can be found here.

njsla test information (former parcc)
All students in the State of New Jersey are required to meet testing graduation requirements that are outlined by the New Jersey Department of Education. Please visit the NJDOE's website for information regarding the testing requirements.

parking and traffic
Below are some reminders when driving in and around Summit High School:
1) Do not drop students off in the middle of a road or drive.
2) Have students exit the car on the sidewalk side to avoid stepping into traffic.
3) Have students cross streets by a crossing guard or police officer.
4) Do not make K-turns or U-turns in driveways on Kent Place Boulevard.
5) When pulling into the school drive, pull forward as far as possible before drop off.
6) Arrive early, the building is open before 7 am each day.
7) Instruction begins promptly at 7:45 am, please arrive by 7:35 am at the latest.

PE Independent Study
The Summit Board of Education recognizes the value of physical activity in the development and maintenance of sound physical and mental health. The Board of Education also recognizes that many of our students maintain an active lifestyle through athletics. These athletes often train many hours each week. Therefore, any sophomore, junior, or senior student who participates in a Summit High School athletic program or in an approved outside athletic activity may apply to take a Physical Education Independent Study for up to three marking periods.
The deadline to apply for PE Independent Study for Winter 2019 is:
November 15th for Hockey, Swimming, and Outside Sports
December 5th for Basketball, Winter Track, and Wrestling
Both parts of the application must be submitted by the student by this deadline. Late applications will not be accepted.

photo information for students
All students will get their photo taken during PE classes on Wednesday, September 4th, Thursday, September 5th, or Friday, September 6th.
Any orders must be submitted to the photographers on the day the students take their pictures. An order form was mailed home during the summer.

Summit Performing Arts Resource Committee (SPARC) promotes the performing arts, recognizes student achievements, and continuously enriches programs and productions through advocacy, financial support, and education initiatives in all the Summit Public Schools.
